Long ago, the buildroot would kind of compile on OSX; it has not been
continuously checked on OSX though as I've continued updating it.  If
you have any patches to make it work on OSX (while still working
elsewhere) then please send them -- I'll be happy to commit them.

quilt is a patch stack manager.  iirc, fink has quilt in it -- there
might be some useful patches to quilt in the fink repo.
