Well you should calm down with the e-mailing the same thing over and over.
ok starting from a clean check out I'll tell you what I do.c

1.go to the gumstix directory and do a 'make defconfig'

2. run 'make'

3. remove  this directory  :  .../gumstix-buildroot/toolchain_build_arm_nofpu/gcc-3.4.5-final

4. run 'make menuconfig'

5. in make menuconfig select every thing you think you want and select the C++(in toolchain options)
and uisp (in package selection)

6. run 'make'

that should be it....however you might want to insert a step for enabling i2c in the kernel betwwen step 3 and 4
you can read about that here: http://docwiki.gumstix.org/I2C_on_the_Gumstix#Building_the_modules_from_source
alternatly you can do it in a make menuconfig, see this page: http://docwiki.gumstix.org/Recompiling_the_Linux_Kernel
it's a good idea to remove the  .../gumstix-buildroot/build_arm_nofpu/root directory when doing any of these.
Some people say just to remove the .../gumstix-buildroot/build_arm_nofpu/ I think either will work starting from a clean checkout. But if you deselect things and make another build it's probably best to wipe out the whole build_arm_nofpu directory and then rebuild your kernel and then make the whole build root

best of luck

I just followed the instruction on docwiki.gumstix.org/Buildroot, selecting only the additional package uisp. When I try to make I get:

checking for gawk... gawk
checking whether make sets $(MAKE)... yes
checking for arm-linux-strip... arm-linux-strip
checking for arm-linux-g++... /home/claudio/gumstix-buildroot/build_arm_nofpu/staging_dir/bin/arm-linux-uclibcgnueabi-g++
checking for C++ compiler default output file name... configure: error: C++ compiler cannot create executables
See `config.log' for more details.
make: *** [/home/claudio/gumstix-buildroot/build_arm_nofpu/uisp-20050207/.configured] Error 77

I find out that someone had the same problem on the mailing list, but no one answered.

However, I tried to cross compilate by myself (as suggested in http://docwiki.gumstix.org/Gumstix_programming):

./configure --host=arm-linux --prefix=/home/claudio/gumstix-buildroot/build_arm_nofpu/root
make && make install

then I reflashed the gumstix. Now I have the error:

/bin/uisp: /bin/uisp: 1: Syntax error: "(" unexpected

Any idea?

Thanks

Claudio
