I can boot off nand flash fine without making any changes. Guess that should mean that nothing is wrong with the WLAN chip. Will give it a go anyways.

Your next two lines should be something like:

libertas: 00:19:88:37:2a:c6, fw 9.70.7p0, cap 0x00000303
libertas: wlan0: Marvell WLAN 802.11 adapter

Could be something wrong with your WLAN chip.   Can you boot off nand flash?

You could also try turning off WLAN through u-boot before you boot the Linux kernel, and see if that gets you further.

Subject: [Gumstix-users] Bootable MicroSD won't boot

Hey guys,

Having a problem trying to boot a microSD on my Overo Fire. I followed the instructions on gumstix.org (http://gumstix.org/create-a-bootable-microsd-card.html) to create the bootable microsd and the I copied the u-boot.bin, uImage and omap3-desktop-nand-image-overo.ubi into the home directory on the rootfs partition of the microsd along with the script from http://gumstix.org/how-to/70-writing-images-to-flash.html. I am using the pre-built stable images from 30 Aug 2011 (http://cumulus.gumstix.org/images/angstrom/factory/2011-08-30-1058/ using MLO not mlo-updated).

Every time I try to boot it boots until a certain point where it says "libertas_sdio: Copyright Pierre Ossman" and then just hangs there for a while before rebooting itself. Then the whole process just repeats again. Anyone know what the problem could be? I've been at it for nearly 6 hours and haven't had any luck getting it working.

Serial output on pastebin (http://pastebin.com/dbm1J5Vw)

Cheers,
Joe
