There are drivers for audio/wave for Connex and Basix – I don’t see them for Verdex.

You don’t say what you wan’t to use the USB port for – but the basic drivers are there and that’s the comm channel for the remote desktop.  So depends on whether there are drivers for whatever you want to hook up to it.

I downloaded the BSP the example the GumstixII_TestApps folder has a C# example project for accessing the audiostix2 features. I'm unsure if this will work with verdex however? I want to use the breakout-vx for it's host USB port have you tried accessing this?

I've not tried any of what you mentioned – I'm using basix and connex boards.

There's no mention of audio in the source code that I can see at all. http://www.codeplex.com/gumstix/SourceControl/ListDownloadableCommits.aspx

Robostix – yes.  Breakout-vx shouldn't be a problem but I guess it depends on what you want to use it for.

David Vescovi is working on a new Verdex release but he doesn't mention audio either.

He's mainly interested in GPS at this time, Wifi and Bluetooth…

Michael,

Have you tried Verdex with this yet? I know there's an alternate BSP coming but wondered if I could get:

Verdex 6

AudioStix2

Breakout-VX

Working the the currently avaliable BSP?

I'm using MS Visual Studio 2005 plus these add-ons:

Embedded CE 6.0 Evaluation Edition (you get a 6 month free trial)

And Active Sync

As long as you don't want Bluetooth (it doesn't currently work – perhaps in the WinCE 5.0 release which I haven't tried) – and I guess you're not hooking up a display?  There's a "remote desktop" in the gumstix WinCE "rehost*" that will talk to the gumstix.
