Hint: Use "gumstix-verdex" for the machine name, not "gumstix-custom-verdex".
It was renamed forom old SVN when the code for 2.6.21 gumstix-verdex kernel was
put into git.

And you will need to create or modify your old kernel build recipe to conform to latest
bitbake syntax.  The old com.gumstix.collection patches(recipes) also never made it
into git (or in the environment setup script), so any recipes or tasks that are used for
verdex need to be ported over into your user.collection path.
In particular, task-base from overo branch had some things in it that were rather
OMAP board design specific and need to be changed for verdex (eg dependencies for pcmcia
and wifi or smsc911x for example).

There are also several patches/recipes for many of the common applications
to support wireless, bluetooth, etc that require machine name specific
folders that are not in current git.  For the minimal image build, you might not
need that.

Or else you can wait until Ash Charles is completed incorporating all of the
changes I submitted into the correct verdex git branch (which will also bump up kernel support to
2.6.30, 2.6.31 (and, I think 2.6.32)).  When that is done, then I guess someone will
update the wikis to document how to use git and build verdex (and latest kernel).

Subject: [Gumstix-users] Using git repo for the verdex?

I would like to build an image for a verdex XM4 from the OE git repository.
Is it as simple as changing auto.conf from "overo" to
"gumstix-custom-verdex"?  Ive read a couple of posts on this and I am not
quite sure the correct way to do it, if there is more to it could you please
tell me the steps I have to go through?  I just want to bitbake
