Hi all,

I would not unplug the power that way... not sure if this corrupted my image... but it was the last thing i did before not booting again... so i always do a poweroff and wait until the system halted message

Actually, part of halting is shutting down the network, which does, in
fact turn the link LED off.


/etc/init.d/S40network stop

also turns the link LED off. Interestingly enough, manually executing:

modprobe -r smc91x

causes the following crash:
