Scott,
You have my deepest thanks and appreciation for your effort.

My full build failed with gnome-mplayer. It also locked up my PC, I had to do a hard reboot this morning. First time for this Linux box!?

I will attempt the fixes you have below. This feels like a bottomless pit. There is no end to the errors.

Next I am going to try the build from Gumstix as suggested by Bill. Maybe I can make my modifications and fixes on the running system, not built in via bitbake. Wish me luck, I'm going to need it. The big show is next week.

Yes, I am getting errors on an omap3-desktop-image build also.
I see your pain.

vala - had to back off to 0.7.7.7 and use a previously fetched file

gnome-mplayer - had to bitbake gcc first to get libstdc++.so.6 in the right
place

gimp - the command to build stock-icons.list failed, a bad png?
| failed to load "./stock-question-64.png": Couldn't recognize the image
file format for file './stock-question-64.png'

gnumeric - the command to build gnumeric-stock-pixbufs is failing, another
bad image file?
../../src/pixmaps/gnumeric-stock-pixbufs.h
| failed to load "./column_add_16.xpm": Couldn't recognize the image file
format for file './column_add_16.xpm'

I don't want to work on this. I only need console ;-)
