Alex,

I ran a couple of tests on my Chestnut with an IOmega 500GB external HD connected to the host port. See the results below. It seems that it maxes out at ~23MBps, but I'm inclined to believe that's more a limit of the drive itself.

$ dd if=/dev/zero of=/media/sda1/test bs=10k count=1000
1000+0 records in
1000+0 records out
10240000 bytes (10 MB) copied, 0.616607 s, 16.6 MB/s

$ dd if=/dev/zero of=/media/sda1/test bs=10k count=5000
5000+0 records in
5000+0 records out
51200000 bytes (51 MB) copied, 2.54821 s, 20.1 MB/s

$ dd if=/dev/zero of=/media/sda1/test bs=50k count=5000
5000+0 records in
5000+0 records out
256000000 bytes (256 MB) copied, 11.4612 s, 22.3 MB/s

$ dd if=/dev/zero of=/media/sda1/test bs=100k count=5000
5000+0 records in
5000+0 records out
512000000 bytes (512 MB) copied, 21.5803 s, 23.7 MB/s

$ dd if=/dev/zero of=/media/sda1/test bs=1k count=500000
500000+0 records in
500000+0 records out
512000000 bytes (512 MB) copied, 25.8483 s, 19.8 MB/s

$ dd if=/dev/zero of=/media/sda1/test bs=512 count=500000
500000+0 records in
500000+0 records out
256000000 bytes (256 MB) copied, 18.5591 s, 13.8 MB/s

Hi,
 I'm trying to log data to a USB flash drive (corsair 32GB) flash USB 2.0. I've simply plugged it into the USB port on the chestnut board. I was wondering if anyone had any benchmarks for how fast I should be able to write to the drive. I am using the lower level write (not fwrite). Best I seem to be able to do is ~1MBps...
