Many thanks for the help received so far. The page Ash suggested fixed the compiler flag error, and another page I found fixed an error with the getline function being duplicated or somesuch. The error I get now seems simple enough, do_unpack fails for the mpfr-native package. This is odd because the package successfully unpacks; if I delete the file and try again it comes back. This is essentially what I get:
NOTE: package mpfr-native-2.1.1: started
NOTE: package mpfr-native-2.1.1-r2: task do_unpack: started
NOTE: Unpacking /usr/share/sources/mpfr-2.1.1.tar.bz2 to /home/socks/gumstix/gumstix-oe/tmp/work/i686-linux/mpfr-native-2.1.1-r2/
NOTE: Task failed:
package mpfr-native-2.1.1-r2: task do_unpack: failed
ERROR: TaskFailed event exception, aborting
A search around hasn't shown any similar situations I can find. All I can find is that this is a package for multiple precision floating point calculations (with rounding!). Perhaps I have a corrupted package?
