# vi /etc/network/interfaces
you can change the eth0 lines to something like:

auto eth0
iface eth0 inet static

and with
# /etc/init.d/S40network restart

you should get the lights going.

Hope this helps.

Subject: [Gumstix-users] Problems with netstix 400xm-cf ethernet.

I recently purchased a netstix 400xm-cf, and I have not had any luck in getting it to work. When the netstix is powered up and connected to my router, no activity (the leds on the router are not lit up) shows up on the router for the netstix. I have also tried setting up a DHCP server on my linux box with debug enable, then power up the the netstix, but there was no request from the device for IP. Any suggestions are welcomed.
