#24 U-boot doesn't see SMC 91C111 chip in verdex+netCF-vx setup

With the following setup:
- verdex xl6p (firmware 1559)
- netCF-vx
- console-st

U-boot will not see the network port on the netCF-vx (booting into linux confirms that the port works). Attempting to do any network ops from inside U-boot results in errors, often reporting a garbage ID_REV for the lan chip (otherwise reporting an ID_REV of 0).
