Hello,
A seagull client gets a closed channel indication while starting, in case the particular port is already in use by another process.
you can check whether you have any such problems.
As regarding the error "No protocol found for this name [al]"
you can ignore it as its a bug in seagull, corrected in the trunk.
Also see if you get anything in with the A level logs.
