I have the following issue:
We use harddisc-camcorders to do traffic counts. The recorded mpeg2 files are transferred to a PC in the office and evaluated. For this job we use MPC, which turned out the best player to handle subtitles.
The subtitles display a timecode and are generated by a small program that reads the time stamp of the file and the length of the video stream and generates a text file in SRT-format that contains the realtime of the recorded traffic situation.
Often it is necessary to view the video at higher speeds, especially when there is not much traffic to count. In this situation the subtitle does not sync with the picture. In fact the subtitle speed stays the same. When you stop the video and start again, the sync is fixed again. But I would prefer a constant sync with the picture.
Is it just a thing of checking the right options in MPC or is it a systematic issue?
I would like to avoid rerecording the videos to merge the subtitle with the video stream (takes too much time).
Or is there another hidden time stamp in the mpeg2 files that I am not aware of, so that I do not need the external subtitle file?
Any suggestion is appreciated. Thanks
