Hi I have pushed out a new release today, to fix a issue with jack session. This release also fixed some build/runtime issues on OSX. Also I have committed the rest of the source reformation. The source is now clean to the Google C++ Style Guide convention at -v3 checked with cpplint.py greats hermann |

I will do that. Maybe I found a better solution once, it's a bit tricky to resample in realtime, special when large files are involved. Also, it isn't easy to check if the resampler fail in that stage, otherwise we could do all that automatic. For now, I could only put it on the todo list, I need a brainstorm to find a better/saver solution then the one we use now. greats hermann > > This is the same file that I had issues with way back when the project > started... Source code format and style, yea, well, I'm not a professional programmer, nor have I learn it somewhere. I learn by doing it and try my best to reach acceptable results. Often I think about the source formatting and style cheats, but there are so many out there in the wild that a decision isn't easy. Anyhow, when we work on the source it will be helpful to use a fixed format and style. So, I found now the Google C++ Style Guide, witch seems to be nice to me. http://google-styleguide.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/cppguide.xml There is a python script (cpplint.py) included witch will check the source files and identifies many style errors. I have started to convert the guitarix source to the style guidelines of cpplint. The headers are converted and committed, the .cpp files should follow. Hope that it makes the source a bit more attractive and better readable. greats hermann |

In the jconv settings widget you find now a new toggle button "Auto Gain correction". Therewith you can switch the auto gain correction on/off. If a file wouldn't work proper, switch auto gain correction of and try again. To the auto gain correction, it's a kind of normalize algorithms to reduce the influence on the overall gain. Unfortunately it seems that the algorithms fail when files with a long reverb part in use. The gain line (green line on top of the wave view) will work in any case, so you can use it, also when the auto gain correction is off. Auto Gain correction isn't a realtime option, so you have to press apply when you change the setting during the convolver is running. greats hermann |

This is just a matter of a bit of time inserting it in the database. Since we can have screenshots/img-tags in the tooltipps, one can easily make a screenshot of the menu expanded and insert it in the table. It would be nice though, to have an opportunity to make subtooltipps that only appear, if a root-tooltipp is expanded. This is just a bit more coding especially for the editor and we need one more table in the db for that to do it right. I intend to make this in July/during vacation - fun work to make me smile a bit more, so my family will tend to accept it ;-) > > well, really nice. :-) > > greats > hermann > > |

Could you include a full expanded screen-shot, with the toolbar also, and yes, when you send me a user/passwort I will contribute. It is also possible to expand the menus when move the mouse over them ? well, really nice. :-) greats hermann |

Hello, I have made up a little app that could help to explain the GUI of guitarix to the users: http://guitarix.sourceforge.net/index.php?page=6&p_type=gui the app uses sqlite via PDO and thus we can edit and add zones to the screenshot that can pop up explanatory tooltipps: http://guitarix.sourceforge.net/guiedit.php If you want to try it, I'll gladly send you a valid password offlist. The thing is of course initial only. It lacks some functions that should be there and the workflow is not entirely perfect ;-) Anyway, I would be happy to get some comments and even more I'd be interested in contributions to the contents of the tooltipps. Stuff like: What exactly does the Master-knob as we have the fader in the Output-bar also? You may find it a little daring, that I have put this unfinished piece directly on the sourceforge-page. The reason is, that I could not find a simple way to insert the database-file in the sf-page. PDO seems to reject writing on files that are uploaded via FTP. So we need to work with a database-file that is created on the sf-page by PHP. If we would experiment with the data on my lapoc-server, all we do there, would be subject for a complicated transfere-process. I would need to dump the data from the lapoc-server to a SQL-File and then import this file on the sf-page. Not a big thing to do but one more thing to do and vacation is comming to take me away to the dark nebulas of off-line soon ;-) So I hope it is not too great an offence to have this alpha-version on the sf-page. Anyway, nobody, who does not know the file-names will find it.... best regards p.s.: this is, of course the first step to a little CMS for the website ;-) |

Imagine an old-fashioned well pump with a long handle that is used to pump the water. A single person can thus pump water from the well by pulling the handle down, and pushing it back up again. This would be comparable to a single-ended amplifier. Now imagine that a second handle is attached, pointing in the opposite direction. Now two people can pump at the same time, effectively doubling the amount of power applied to the pump. While one person is pulling down on his handle, the other person is pushing up on his. The electronic analogue to this situation is called - appropriately enough - a "push-pull" amplifier. http://www.dogstar.dantimax.dk/tubestuf/mnibl2-1.htm and the feedback amp is : An amplifier in which a passive network is used to return a portion of the output signal to its input so as to change the performance characteristics of the amplifier. In the guitarix push pull amps both units are used, so first a feedback pre amp followed by a push pull master amp section. In the new feedback amps, only the preamp section runs with two feedback stages followed by a linear tube stage 3. The pre/master amps are straight linear, 3 tube stages followed by a master tube. The single tube amps are likely pre-amps only. greats hermann |

I could add a push pull mode for the mixed tubes pre 12AU7/ master 6V6 and pre 12ax7/ master 6V6 but not for the "single" tube modes, because I need the master 6V6 tubes for that. greats hermann |

very little cpu usage... like you said, only 2% more... will this be applied for all the tube settings? really beefy tones when you play with it... the postamp really has improved also... Hi Today I have add/finished the new push/pull tube mode witch is designed to work best with high distortion. This unit include 7 tubes, there-from are 2 tubes in feedback and 2 tubes in push pull mode. All in one it need's a bit more CPU, here it's 2% more, but I think it is it worth. Also I have add a new gradient property to the GxPaintbox class, box-gradient, witch allow to set the colour for the inner box from the effects in the rack. So we get a bit better control for the skins in the rc-files. greats hermann |
