I think the microphones impulse responses needed too.
Had somebody found IR's of microphones only?

I tried google but nothing positive....

Andreas, yeah, I did use an older ReCabinet demo of it way back when brummer first started Guitarix and I was testing a lot of it for him. I was using a 32bit system.
Yeah it seems they guys spent a lot of time on getting that cab sound.
Another one is:
I know the main dev as he lives 45 minutes from me. Actually he and Hermann were in contact in the early stages of Guitarix. Dunno what the outcome was.
I'm just dropping ideas off to you guys. Hopefully they're helpful.

do you know if the recabinet demo runs under linux/wine? I don't have
the time to write such a unit, but also it's not clear to me what they
are doing in that plugin. Apart from two EQ channel strips (not sure
if they really need to be integrated in the unit..) they offer knobs
for choosing the mic type/position/distance. I assume they are using
special linear filters for that. They also offer a "dynamics" knob
which might be just some type of wave shaper, but don't know. Unless
someone knows a scientific paper describing these things one would
have to do some measurements. There are also collections of IR files
(e.g. from Red Wire) which are recorded for all these changed
parameters. That should definitely be better than trying to simulate
those parameters (e.g. mic position).
