In works with footnotes at the page bottom and chapter heading occur mid page the Move FNs to Landing Zone(s) tool places many footnotes in the incorrect chapter.

For example with the following page:

Some text from the preceding chapter.[1]

FOOTNOTES:

New Chapter Heading

Some text from the new chapter.[2]

[Footnote 1: A footnote for the previous chapter.]

[Footnote 2: A footnote for this chapter.]

FOOTNOTES:

Steps:

Select Fixup=>Footnote Fixup from the menu.

Click Move FNs to Landing Zone(s).

Results:

Some text from the preceding chapter.[1]

New Chapter Heading

Some text from the new chapter.[2]

FOOTNOTES:

[Footnote 1: A footnote for the previous chapter.]

[Footnote 2: A footnote for this chapter.]

What should have happened should be:

Some text from the preceding chapter.[1]

FOOTNOTES:

[Footnote 1: A footnote for the previous chapter.]

New Chapter Heading

Some text from the new chapter.[2]

FOOTNOTES:

[Footnote 2: A footnote for this chapter.]

A possible solution would be first move the footnotes to the paragraphs like the "Move FNs to Para" tool does then "Move FNs to Landing Zone(s)." I do this manually when I have this situation.
