I close it too and then next time a guification comes in, boom...gaim crashes. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Gooeyboy (scotterwin) Date: 2006-04-27 09:54 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=1459819 I have determined WHEN it crashes. Category: None Group: None >Status: Closed >Resolution: Works For Me Priority: 7 Private: No Submitted By: Peter Lawler (bleeter) Assigned to: Peter Lawler (bleeter) Summary: Initial slashexec problems Initial Comment: We already know about these issues: 1. No timeouts. The original code wasn't cross platform, after converting to cross platform, grim realised we couldn't use a timeout to stop runaway processes without changing the guts of the cross-platform. So we released, and put timeouts off until v2.0 2. Bad error messages. The error messages as displayed in the chat could be... erm, better. The proper error message is displayed in gaim's debug log. I put this off until v2.0. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: John Bailey (rekkanoryo) Date: 2006-05-17 00:36 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=606440 I have resolved #2 to the best of my ability. We now exec the user's shell (cmd.exe on Windows, so win9x/ME users are screwed) and feed it the command(s) to run. This has the benefit of allowing pipelines to work. I'm also putting the error message into the conversation window if there is one. I did NOT add async exec and timeouts. I'm lowering the priority because I think the most important things referenced here have been taken care of. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: John Bailey (rekkanoryo) Date: 2006-03-06 23:43 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=606440 These are still problems... ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=602352&aid=1250045&group_id=92888 |

Category: None Group: None >Status: Closed >Resolution: Fixed Priority: 5 Private: No Submitted By: forum-fraggle (forum-fraggle) Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Summary: bug in changing themes Initial Comment: Guification works fine with gaim beta4. I´ll try to change one theme and save it. During this procedere thie theme is no longer available for guifications (gaim-plugins, guification, theme) but still in the theme folder. The next test was to open one theme to change something but save it without changing anything. Same result. Editing themes was done in gaim, menu plugins etc.). Same happens if I edited the xml file of the theme and save it. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- >Comment By: John Bailey (rekkanoryo) Date: 2006-11-27 00:59 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=606440 Originator: NO This is a bug in guifications that was fixed for 2.13beta5. Previous to Gaim 2.0.0beta4, Gaim's internal XML API did not put the XML PI into the .xml document generated. We worked around this by putting it there ourselves. Since Gaim's move to libxml2, this is no longer necessary. We discovered this bug shortly after beta4 and fixed it for beta5. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: forum-fraggle (forum-fraggle) Date: 2006-11-09 14:24 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=1162988 Your´re right. There was a second line and after deleting the theme was visible again. Interestingly editing the xml file with notepad to translate shown messages results in this second line again, but 2nd editing to remove that line does not shown this effect. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: AluminiuM (randy-aluminium) Date: 2006-11-09 02:45 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=1640799 Does failure happen because on having guarded the new file .xml in the first lines of code it repeats two times the line " <? Hello! the plugin pack really rocks, thank you for this great job :) on gaim 2.0.0beta4 under linux the buddy list plugin does not remember to hide the menu in the buddy list once gaim i restarted, so that one has to deselect that option, apply, re-select it, apply and then finally have the menu hidden. This has to be done manually each time gaim is started... on gaim 2.0.0beta5 on windows, I haven't yet managed to have the menu disappear. For example, if I do as above, nothing happens. It would also be very nice to have an option to hide the windows decorations (title bar and control box), and an other option to disable grouping (which cannot be toggled any more in the latest gaim releases) so that just the buddies would appear in the buddy list window. Thank you very much! -- A l e s s a n d r o S a l v a t o r i |

Category: None Group: None Status: Open Resolution: None Priority: 5 Private: No Submitted By: forum-fraggle (forum-fraggle) Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Summary: bug in changing themes Initial Comment: Guification works fine with gaim beta4. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- >Comment By: forum-fraggle (forum-fraggle) Date: 2006-11-09 19:24 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=1162988 Your´re right. There was a second line and after deleting the theme was visible again. Interestingly editing the xml file with notepad to translate shown messages results in this second line again, but 2nd editing to remove that line does not shown this effect. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: AluminiuM (randy-aluminium) Date: 2006-11-09 07:45 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=1640799 Does failure happen because on having guarded the new file .xml in the first lines of code it repeats two times the line " <? Xml version = '1.0' encoding ='UTF-8 '?> ". Erasing one of the two solved! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: AluminiuM (randy-aluminium) Date: 2006-11-08 20:52 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=1640799 When you install topics also some they do not appear. I have seen that this happens in linux and in windows, it is not related to the S.O. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=602352&aid=1591606&group_id=92888 |

Category: None Group: None Status: Open Resolution: None >Priority: 7 Private: No Submitted By: TweeterMan (tweeterman) Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Summary: Guification eats up CPU usage; unresponsive Initial Comment: I'm using Windows, Guifications for beta4. This problem has been with every version so far. When a Guifications popup is called for, CPU usage is eaten up, and Gaim fails to respond (so I never see the popup, and I have to manually end Gaim). I heard that this problem is related to fonts, but I don't know what to do. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=602352&aid=1583229&group_id=92888 |

Category: None Group: None Status: Open Resolution: None Priority: 5 Submitted By: Tobias Ottmar (otti8472) Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Summary: gaim-guifications-2.13beta4 FC5 rpm build error Initial Comment: Hi, compiling a beta4-rpm using the SPEC file fails on Fedora Core 5. Problem is that find-lang searches for %{name} (which resolves to gaim-guifications) and finds nothing, but switching it to find-lang guifications (without "gaim-") resolves the problem. Also you need to change the included files to %files -f guifications.lang. Not sure how to deal with this. Probably internal naming must be changed in the translations? P.S.: Tried to create an account on gaim.guifications.org. Couldn't log in there. Would have preferred to file the bug report there. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=602352&aid=1580661&group_id=92888 |
