In orchestral scores, staff lines that only have rests are usually removed; this saves some space. This style is so called ‘French Score’. Please see attached PDF for better understanding.
Complex to implement, don't even know if it's really feasable. I can't see how that could be expressed in gmn. Next, it requires to interact deeply with the ar to gr conversion algorithm, which is not trivial.
