Did you do a ldconfig after you installed wx? And is /usr/local/lib in 
your /etc/ld.so.conf file? 
Those are the two things i can think of on the top of my head... 

If it doesent work, please start the client like this (in a term)
strace 2>&1 src/gbdwxGubed | grep libwx

and send me the output
