I receive this message when attempting to open a
configuration, Ctr'l-O, via menu.
I further verified saving a configuration to "x", then
changing something in the GTKTerm configuration and
then saving the changes to "x" also. Instead of
getting a warning that I was about to over-write "x"
and asking for an ok, GTKTerm simply saves the modified
configuration. However when I go to reload a
configuration I get this message: "Cannot read
configuration file !".
I using Ubuntu 6.06 LTS - the Dapper Drake - and have
been utilizing GTKTerm for the past week with
satisfactory operation, i.e. I'm at least familar with
saving multiple configurations, over-writing
configurations and selecting different configurations
within a session.
I've attempted re-install via Synaptic with no success.

Delete in your home directory your config file and start
gtkterm again. GTKTerm writes a new config file
