Not exactly what you're asking for, but libgpod comes with a python script called covertart_fetch.py (in libgpod/bindings/python/examples) which will attempt to automatically fetch cover art for songs in your ipod database from amazon (you need an amazon web services key first though). Hope that helps, Christophe |

If you have the same music on your pc: - make sure the music is in your collection - open the cover manager - click "retrieve covers" - connect the ipod and go to the ipod browser - right click on any item and select "Refresh Album Covers". This will do it for all albums on the ipod. If you don't have music on the pc, then set the collection directory to be the ipod mount, eg /media/IPOD, and follow the same steps as above. Can't help with the python problem though. Seb ps - sorry for polluting the gtkpod list with amarok stuff :) -- http://www.sebruiz.net/ |

To followup Todd's comments. In order to build the Python bindings you must have SWIG (Simplified Wrapper and Interface Generator [www.swig.org]) installed. Its available as a package for most Linux distros. Also be sure that the location where the bindings are installed are properly setup. You can add it to PYTHONPATH environment variable. - mela Thomas Klein-Hitpass <rototom@...> wrote:2. Thanks for your answer. Both programs can download album covers to my local computer. Add them with gtkpod and set the add coverart template to match the format used by whichever program you're using to download the coverart. (I've used albumart and configured it to name the downloaded artwork folder.jpg.) Then update the tracks in gtkpod.
