gtkpod should support the 5G. Please check
- if you import the database, do the tracks show up in gtkpod?
- did you import songs or videos? Videos appear in the video menu
Uwe Herrmann (google) sent patches for the iPod video -- he might be able to
help you as well.

Well this is sort of interesting, the only file in
/mnt/ipod/iPod_Control/iTunes is a 0 byte file called firsttime
gtkpod did create a db file there, but it looks like the ipod deleted it.
