Based on the log snippets you sent previously, it looks like gtkpod
has found libid3tag and that something is wrong with the libid3tag
(Now, /usr/local/lib is not a standard place that is searched, so
perhaps you have exported LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/usr/local/lib or added
/usr/local/lib to one of your /etc/ld.so.conf files. But that's
perhaps not the most important issue.)

Try this and paste the result:
readelf -s /usr/local/lib/libid3tag.so | grep unknown
(The readelf command is in binutils.)
