The short answer seems to be that the threads are winning. :)
Using gtkpod with gtk+ >=3D 2.12, the tooltips flash on the screen and
disappear very quickly. It seems that the problem is that they get
reset whenever the conversion timeout function is called
(src/file_convert.c:323). The timeout is set for 100 ms, which
doesn't leave most of us much time to read the tooltips. :)
Is anyone familiar enough with gtk and threading to know if there's a
way to correct this behavior so that the tooltips remain on the screen
until the user moves the cursor?
