Reproduction is easy (if you've got a script to restore your lyriics tags in your music files or got a backup):
1) save song lyrics in the USLT-Tags of your music files
--> in gtkpod, the lyrics are shown and can be trnsmitted to the iPod; in the lyrics column, all tracks with lyrics have checked boxes
2) Do "Refresh track info from file" on your tracks
--> Nothing changes regarding the lyrics checkboxes, but the lyrics are gone (in the Song properties window and in the file tags)
3) Do "Refresh track info from file another time
--> che checked lyrics boxes become unchecked (which is the logical consequence of no lyrics being there, i suppose)
4) Restore the fruits of long hours spent tagging your music with lyrics
this "works" as well when you select "Sync playlists with Dir(s) instead"
I've encounteres a thread written last year in the MediaMnkey Bug tracker. it deals with the problem of lyrics sometimes not being shown in the ipod, except the song titles, but there also comes up a problem being quite simlilar to this. I don't knot whether this is in any way helpful; I simply post the link, i recon:
