I own a 4th generation 4Gb green Ipod, and I'm using Ubuntu 8.04 64bits, gtkpod 0.99.12-1, libid3tag0 0.15.1b-10, libgpod-common 0.6.0-3ubuntu3 and libgpod3 0.6.0-3ubuntu3.
GtkPod recognize my iPod, list the songs, and transfer very well my music, with cover art and everything. But when I disconnect the iPod and browse my artists on the iPod, it displays some double entries for some artists, showing them twice or more. Those artists contains the same albums, the same tracks, and it's only present once on the iPod disk. This it not a problem with tags, every thing is tagged properly with MusicBrainz and when Rhythmbox index my iPod, it shows everything normally. Notice that Rhythmbox does not create this problem, but can't send cover art, yet.
I tried with AAC files, MP3 files, it doesn't make any difference. I'm not the only one to get this, see here : http://www.nabble.com/gtkpod-creating-double-entries-to14979780.html#a14979780 .
Tell me if I can submit more debug information. And greetings for this nice program :).
Steph.
Is this problem still present with the latest version of libgpod/gtkpod (0.7.0 in SVN, 0.8.0 to be released shortly)?
JCS.
I see this problem too - with gtkpod-0.99.14 and libgpod-0.7.0
(Gentoo)
CM
Does this still happen in recent versions of libgpod (0.8.2) and gtkpod (2.1.2)?
