#4 gtkmail will not start up

I have installed gtkmail on a Compaq 7400 laptop
running Red Hat 7.1. When I try to run gtkmail I get
the following error and the program exits.

[jowens@jowens2 jowens]$ 0 messages in
/home/jowens/mail/sent-mail

I have removed the mail directory and had gtkmail
recreate it and commented out the sent mail option in
the .gtkmailrc file and I still get the same error.
