There is a bug in gtkitementry which causes gtksheet to crash. This problem was detected in gpsim and exists in both the 2 and 3 versions of gtkextra. Attached is a patch which is believed to fix the problem.

Last week, we've discovered two more bugs in GtkItemEntry (gtkextra-3):

    - When entering text into GtkItemEntry,
after typing any accented characters (multibyte) the entry will stop to accept any more characters
moving the cursor using the arrow keys 1x left, 1x right will clear the situation, entry works normally after this

    - When placing the cursor into a GtkItemEntry containing accented characters (multibyte) somwhere in the text:
    The system beeps once.

I applied the patch to gtkextra-3 (CVS) today, but it looks to me as if that part of the code is inactive since gtk 2.18

The other issue with the entry of multibyte characters was fixed today in the gtkextra-3 distribution.
The beep issue can no longer be reproduced here.

So, all the issues are fixed now gtkextra-3 (CVS).
