Hi all, Me, trying to develop some applications on win32 using GStreamer from couple of days. Still I am not able play a single MP3 audio file. I tried with all GStreamer versions for win32 provided in GStreamer site. And I couldn't find sufficient document to run simple applications and examples. Some time I will get some error regarding with glib/GStreamer GStreamer plug-ins. Please help me.. Thank you, Raghu |

If you're using binaries from the website, those are really out of date. You should build gstreamer on windows from source. If you're still having problems with that, then you'll need to describe what plugins you're using, and what errors you're getting. Mike |

Well, of course, alsasink doesn't exist on windows. It's for the linux ALSA sound API. As for why playbin didn't work - no idea, since you didn't give the exact command line OR the exact error message - those make it extremely difficult to help you. Mike |

Otherwise for production usage: --disable-gst-debug (you'll save some cpu/memory) --disable-loadsave (really not needed) --disable-parse (remove gst_parse_* features) --disable-option-parsing (not needed if you're going to be using just the library). That should slim it down enough. Oh, and CFLAGS="-Os" will optimize the resulting library size.
