Moin, I just compiled the current cvs version. The only problem was to find out the there is a dependency to libtext-iconv-perl, you should mention this for the debian package. To upload a calendar entry was no problem, more tests will follow! CU -- |Michael Renner E-mail: mic...@gm... | |D-72072 Tuebingen Germany ICQ: #112280325 | |Germany Don't drink as root! ESC:wq |

I have downloaded the cvs version by cvs co yesterday. But from now I proposed to use normal internationalization mechanism. This means that all translations are placed in *.po (*.mo) files and otputed on screen by gettext native functions. Please, include my patch in the mainstream. Also, I am asking for CVS access on the sf.net. I have sf.net account already (andy_shev). Michael, what do you think about my propose? --=20 With best regards, Andy Shevchenko. mailto: an...@sm... |

The only thing was, that I didn't know how to use=20 gettext when I started the project in 2002 :-( > Please, include my patch in the mainstream. Also, I am asking for CVS > access on the sf.net. Could you please commit your changes to the CVS directly, because= =20 I am away for the next two weeks (this time really, not just absent from=20 development ;-) ) I appreciate your help very much! koppi=20 --=20 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~ koppi <ko...@ac...> http://www.action.at ~ ~ artists communication theory information organizations network ~ ~ in a world without fences, who needs gates? ~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ |

OK, how can I understand the file format? I'm not using german support, but I can translate the application in my spare time. You want to translate the gscmxx interface to german, but you do not use=20 the gettext internationalization mechanism. Is it right? Big help for this is kbabel useful utility from KDE project. Also, I have written the converter from old gscmxx translation format to=20 a standart *.po file. You can found it in my patch as make-po.pl script. Have a nice day! --=20 With best regards, Andy Shevchenko. mailto: an...@sm... |

I'm working with an US environment, so it dosn't matter to me. Anyhow: I=20 changes the $LANG variable to 'ru_RU' and get a warning while the applicati= on=20 comes up: renner@lyra:~/.gscmxx$ export LANG=3Dru_RU renner@lyra:~/.gscmxx$ gscmxx Use of uninitialized value in concatenation (.) or string at /usr/bin/gscmx= x=20 line 484. The font "-misc-fixed-medium-r-normal--13-120-75-75-c-70-iso8859-15" does n= ot=20 support all the required character sets for the current locale "ru_RU" (Missing character set "KOI8-R") gscmxx version 0.4.2c Written 2002 by koppi <ko...@we...> Use it at your own risk! You should use the mask of font like following: "-misc-fixed-medium-r-normal--13-120-75-75-c-70-*-*" X server with X font server must chooses required font automatically. Naturally, fonts-KOI8-R fontset must be installed previously. Happy hacking! P.S. Reply to message is going to writer directly but not to list. May be more convenient if reply-to will be set to list address? --=20 With best regards, Andy Shevchenko. mailto: an...@sm... |

No, there are known problems if you do this (e.g. vacation notes,=20 bounces, ...). Every sane OSS-MUA can handle the List-* Headers properly (or has its own=20 mailing list management).
