#423 "Caught error creating PDF" when author field set to URL

To reproduce:

• open/scan image
• select File/Email as PDF
• type "https://foo.bar" into Author field
• see the error:

Caught error creating PDF ..: Unable to open .. for writing at /usr/share/perl5/vendor_perl/PDF/Builder/Basic/PDF/File.pm line 623.

Thanks for the report. Unfortunately, I can't reproduce it.

If I put https://foo.bar into the author field, then by default, gscan2pdf suggests https://foo.bar 2023-10-01.pdf as the filename, but the save button is then ghosted. If I change the filename, then I can create a PDF with https://foo.bar in the author field.

Please start gscan2pdf from the command line with the --log=log option, reproduce the problem, quit, and post the log file. Then I'll take another look.
