Hello, my current setup looks like:

  • gscan2pdf v2.13.2
  • gimp v2.10.34 installed over flatpak
  • flatpak'ed "Resynthetizer" v 2-40
  • Kubuntu 22.04 LTS

and I'm suffering from a strange problem. I'm able to edit a scanned image with gimp and save it, but when I'm trying to use the gimp plugin "resynthizer" to heal transparent areas, it get blocked|frozen|stopped to work at all by 0 %. I thought if should be kind of permission promlem, but no .. If I kill gscan2pdf the plugin wakes up and resumes its work.

GIMP is configurates as a user specific tool and called by "flatpak run org.gimp.GIMP %i".

^^Good Day

What happens if you deinstall the flatpak versions and install them via:

    sudo apt install gimp gimp-plugin-registry

    ?

Unfortunately, this version doesn't contain "resynthesizer" due to lack of python 2 support on ubuntu systems... but I was able to build the plugin from sources and run it using gimp-python*** "gimp-python2-overlay-launcher-ubuntu22.04.AppImage" along with the system gimp v2.10.30.

*** is missing in Kubuntu 22.04 too.

This configuration is working flawlessly, the flatpak'ed not.
