gscan2pdf runs only as root. the user is in the group scanner and saned.
the error on the cli is:

(net.sourceforge.gscan2pdf:9124): Gdk-CRITICAL **: 12:59:25.175: gdk_wayland_window_set_dbus_properties_libgtk_only: assertion 'GDK_IS_WAYLAND_WINDOW (window)' failed
Segmentation fault (core dumped)
