Hello,

My apologizes, but I don't know if it's a bug, a feature request or due to SANE API.
You already provided me an amazing help with a Brother scanner.

I have two scanner attached via network (HP M477FDW, Brother ADS-2800W).
When one of them is offline/idle or powered off there is a message saying that this device can not be opened but it's normal.

Error opening device: opening device 'hpaio:/net/HP_Color_LaserJet_MFP_M477fdw?ip=10.0.0.4': Error during device I/O

But it is impossible to use the second one too.
If one of them is not available ... then second one is not available too.
it doesn't matter which one is offline/idle or online.
Rescanning device does not change anything.
All need to be online to use one of them.

Kind Regards

Please start gscan2pdf from the command line with the --log=log option, reproduce the problem, quit, and post the log file, which gscan2pdf should have compression with an .xz extension.

    Hello,

    My apologizes for the delay.

I made many tests with different version of gscan2pdf with Ubuntu and Debian (without changing drivers version).

I disabled "Cache device list" option in Preferences, Scan Options tab and now I have this dialogue box which ask me what to do. This is perfect.

Now I can use one scanner even if the other scanner is powered off.
Now starting a scan will automatically up from idle state a scanner which was in idle state. This never worked before with "Cache device list" option activated.

So I think you can close this bug.
It seems the problem was me.

    Regards
