Grow IEP Server Setup and Installation

This tutorial uses VMWare Player because it is free, easy to use and available on most platforms. You can also use VMWare ESXi, Workstation, server, or Virtual Box. The directions in this tutorial are for VMWare Player.
Requirements
- You will need a PC that support the 64-bit operating system. Your test PC will need to have a VT-capable processor, which most current PCs do.
- You will need at least 2GB of free memory to run the VMWare image as well (So your host should probably have at least 4GB).
Download the Grow IEP virtual machine image
You can download Grow IEP from
http://www.sf.net/p/growiep.
Download the VMWare Player
Download the VMWare player application for your operation system. You may also use Virtual Box, VMWare Server, VMWare Workstation, or VMWare ESXi.

Install VMware Player as described by VWMare.
Extract the zip file using your favorite platform dependent method.
Start VMware Machine
- Open VMware Player
- Select File -> Open a Virtual Machine
- Browse to the location where you extracted the Grow IEP image and select GrowIEP.vmx or GrowIEP.ova
- Click on the Play button associated with the Grow IEP virtual machine.
- When prompted about connecting virtual device floppy0, select the option No
- When prompted to download VMware Tools, select Remind me Later
Initial Server Login and Setup
- When promoted to login enter the username: growiep and the password: password.
- You will then be prompted to change the password for the user growiep
- Next you will need to enter static IP information for the server.
- Next the server will attempt to update the core operating system packages as well as Grow IEP. This process may take a long time depending on your network configuration.
- Next Grow IEP will restart, this process can take 1-3 minutes.
- When setup is complete you will be prompted with a URL to access Grow IEP web interface. Open up a web browser on a machine that can connect to the Grow IEP server and enter the address as displayed.
- You will most likely be prompted to accept the SSL certificate because it is self-signed. It is highly recommend that you update the server's certificate before using Grow IEP in a production environment.
- In the web interface enter the username: admin and the password: password.
- You will be prompted to change your password on initial login.
- Your password must be at least 5 characters long
- Must be mixed case
- Music have either a special character or number
- Cannot have any obvious progressions like 123, abc or eeeee
- Lastly, you must read and accept the license agreement.
