#19 Grip Not Encoding

Like others, I had trouble getting Grip to encode--

what was odd was that I could use lame by command line
and get perfect results.

I also discovered that if I logged in as root,
everything went fine.

So, I chmod-ed all the encoders to give users
permission and wouldn't you know it . . . it worked
some, and some not.

Finally, it occured to me: the times when Grip didn't
work was when I set the bitrate at something higher
than 128. (I kept shooting for 196 since this is what
MediaPlayer does on my XP machine.)

So, I'm relatively happy with 128, but I still have to
wonder why Grip (or Lame) doesn't like the 196 setting.
Any ideas.

PS--I'm using RH9 -- fully updated.
