[GridSim-users] Question about Simulation of Link Failure

I want to simulate a link failure detector by Gridsim toolkit, but I don’t know how to start. May you explain to me how I can start? What pre-requirement or matters I should study before starting. 
May you guide me or determine procedure of it? 
  
By the way, are there any simulation toolkits that consider link failure?
