Dear Sirs, There are two questions I would like to ask: 1- How can I have own scheduler? 2- How can I calculate idle time of resources? Best regards, Hamid |

We are developing a framework for distributed processing and load balancing. We have several jobs of different capacities (anticipated complexity). We ave several processors of different abilities (cost). We would like to use GridSim to simulate the tests that will give us the best Job distribution scheme (which Job fits which processor at what time or at what load). Can you please let us know how this can be achieved with GridSim? Thanks& Regards Srinivas |

Hi, I am working on Load balancing amongst the resources in a grid. I am maintaining DataGridResourceList which contains multiple DataGridResource objects. So please kindly guide me how can i get the 1. "computational load" from the resource 2. and also how can i migrate the computations from one resource to another. Thanks for your cooperation With Regards, Faisal |

Dear all, I need to know the following: 1- how to create more than one grid resource with different resource characteristics. 2- how to manage the number of packets exchanged between grid user and resource. Best regards, Amr Farouk |

I send a mail to the GridSim - users Tue, 25 Mar 2014, no response. Please someone should tell me if the site is no longer functioning or I send to the wrong Location. Please I urgently need help. Whoever is listeing should please direct me on how to send the mail and get a response. Thanks with regards, Hajo --- This email is free from viruses and malware because avast! Hi, i want to get individual workload of all grid resources in a grid. like the way that load of resource1=90% load of resource2=50% load of resource3=80% kindly guide me how i can achieve this in gridsim. i have already done resource creation using datagridresouce class. Dear all, I am also facing similar problem. I fail a task in scheduling policy by setting the gridlet status as failure. I want to communicate to the resource broker that task is fail. How should I generate an event and pass to the resource broker. Good day, My master thesis is on fault tolerant in grid scheduling using gridSim. i have study gridsim example, including the resfailure which implement regionalGIS. my work is on GIS not regional. how do i simulate that failure has occur in my scheduling algorithmms? also i need some particular resource to failed , not all. and when that happen i need to update GIS when the gridlet is completed or failed, which will keep record of resource failure rate. when it failed i can schedule it to another resource. In resfailure example in gridSim, the resource failed even before executing the job and also is RegionalGIS not GIS My major problem is when in my scheduling algorithms should it be called failure method and also it must be executing a job before any resource will fail, so that the job can be transfer. please help me out.. i have exhausted my time making research and now i don't have enough time with my research work. thanks alot. I had to add new method that resets simjava's internal variable "incomplete". Otherwise it did not work. In the code, you just put this line at the end of an experiment: // reset internal SimJava variables to start new experiment with different job/gridlet setup Sim_system.setInComplete(true); If you are interested in my solution, take a look at http://www.fi.muni.cz/~xklusac/alea/ It is a webpage of Alea simulator (which can run several simulations in a row). Also the modified simjava.jar is there: http://www.fi.muni.cz/~xklusac/alea/download/simjava.jar Regards, Dalibor -- --------------------------------- RNDr. Dalibor Klusáček, Ph.D. Faculty of Informatics, MU, Brno. e-mail: xk...@fi... --------------------------------- |

Sir , when i Run gridsim examples using Netbeans , I get an error for the main class as following :- Exception in thread "main" java.lang.ExceptionInInitializerError at Example1.main(Example1.java:59) Caused by: java.lang.RuntimeException: Uncompilable source code - cannot find symbol symbol: class Sim_entity at gridsim.GridSimCore.<clinit>(GridSimCore.java:174) ... 1 more |

Hi everyone, During experiments with Gridsim I experienced difficulties with running several simulations in a row. For example, I have a JUnit test case that executes simulations several times. First simulations is successfully executed, while all next test cases finish immediately after GridSim.startGridSimulation() call. Is it expected behavior and it's impossible to run several simulations in a row? Is there a way to "clear" state of the GridSim so it's possible to run simulation again? -- Regards, Volodymyr |

i did it as: 1. download gridsim from http://sourceforge.net/projects/gridsim/files/latest/download?source=files 2. extract it to say C:\GridSim 3. start netbeans 4. New Project 5. Categories - > Java - > Java Project with existing sources 6. Give a Project Name or take the default provided 7. Add the source package folders (C:\GridSim) 8. Delete the class files or Ignore - > Finish 9. Right Click on project -> properties -> Libraries 10. Add Jar/Folder -> C:\GridSim\jars\*.* 11. Nothing more to do - Just go and run any java file from the examples folder still there is a error in source package after adding and after run it shows 100 error and 4 warning... help me.. |

Hi, We are trying to simulate the TLBO algorithm using GridSim version 5.0. We have created the following scenario: School - > Classrooms -> Teacher - > Students [ Each student has a machine and instance of GridSim ] -> Task is assigned to the student. During execution 1 -> 5 -> 5 -> 20 / teacher We observe that post completion of the tasks of each GridSim node. We get the following error as seen below. eduni.simjava.Sim_exception: Sim_system: Attempt to send to a null entity detected. at eduni.simjava.Sim_system.process_event(* Sim_system.java:751*) at eduni.simjava.Sim_system.run_tick(*Sim_system.java:549*) at eduni.simjava.Sim_system.run(*Sim_system.java:1843*) at gridsim.GridSim.startGridSimulation(*GridSim.java:518*) at rashmita.thesis.TLBSchoolSimulator.main(* TLBSchoolSimulator.java:142*) *java.lang.NullPointerException*: GridSim.startGridSimulation() : Error - you haven't initialized GridSim. at gridsim.GridSim.startGridSimulation(*GridSim.java:523*) at rashmita.thesis.TLBSchoolSimulator.main(* TLBSchoolSimulator.java:142*) Would you please be able to help us with this error ? *Note:* We have called GridSim.init(1, Calendar.getInstance(), false); before start of the execution of the tasks. -- with regards... *Rashmita pradhan.* |
