[GridSim-developers] Flow network model accuracy issue

Hello,

I was curious about the kind of accuracy that could be expected from
the flow based model, so I decided to run an example that would be
simple enough to be computed by hand, just to see.

I simplified one of the provided examples to get a fully symmetric
backbone, with 2 flows of the same size starting at the same time. 

The expected outcome is that the flows terminate at the same time,
about twice the time to send a single message without contention on
the backbone link.  But instead, only one of the flows seem to share
the bandwidth on the bottleneck link while the other doesn't.

That is to say that sending a single flow takes 83.2 seconds while
when sending 2 flows, one of them takes 83.2 seconds while the other
takes 163.8. 

My question here is to know whether I did something wrong in my test
case (attached to this mail), or whether this, as it seems, a bug in
GridSim. I'm using GridSim v5.2.

If someone has a fix or a workaround to solve my problem, please help.

resource reservation algorithm in gridsim, so i want communication between
scheduler and user with resources. i wrote a 3 separate classes for that,so
what i can do for the communication? should i need body method for each of

[GridSim-developers] error while compiling example1

Hi

I'm new user to GRIDSIM. I started to compile example 1. I got the
following error.
                                                     ^
C:\GridSim\examples\gridsim\example01\javac Example1.java
Example1.java:93: cannot access gridsim.GridResource
bad class file: C:\GridSim\jars\gridsim.jar(gridsim/GridResource.class)
class file has wrong version 50.0, should be 49.0
Please remove or make sure it appears in the correct subdirectory of
the classpath.
    private static GridResource createGridResource()
                   ^
1 error

Please help me...

Maybe I found a bug in gridsim 5.0,when i use send() function send a message to a entity ,such as gridresource,with deay=0 while the GridSim.clock = 5.0,but when i get the event in the destination ,the clock is 17,why? so many events seem like this issue.

please use new version of GridSim. We have fixed some of  bugs in
GridSim classes and added new source to simulate resource failure. I
think it will be easier for you to use.

i'm doing project in failure of resources using gridsim 4.2 but in that
its delayed for 2 or3 hrs explained in examples files.. i don't know where
to set resource failure b'cos its automatically setting resource failure
in network of grids... If i've to set the failure then where i've to use

You are right that I want to send multiple messages concurrently. However I only need to comparison some parameters between two entities such as Gridlet  (Arch and OS) and GIS/GridResource (Arch and OS) to match the requirement of Jobs. Currently  I am not actually interested in submitting jobs to Grid Resources, it  may be  needed later on . I just want to know how it is possible to send multiple different request within a same time so I could calculate query rate and successful jobs.
Your help would highly be appreciated

Hi Prithiviraj
for partially submitting job you have to submit gridlet corresponding to
each partition. To identify that the gridlet belongs to same job, keep an
identifier for job. For that you can extend gridlet class.
