The new website is online

The new website is online, now it is more powerful and full of informations. It also has a new forum, more powerful than the sourceforge's one, where to post everiting about GRender.

The website is totally hand written using "Quanta Plus" as html/php editing tool and "The Gimp" for the graphics. It is OpenSource and is developed using HTML 4.01 and PHP. All the pages validate as HTML 4.01 Strict (some pages Transient due to sourceforge inclusions) and CSS.

GRender v0.1.2 released

Just a minor release, fIxed the "close.xpm" inclusion issue and updated the copyright notes to 2004.

I hope to work a little more on GRender, and I also hope to find another developer to help me on doing it.

GRender v0.1.1 released

This release is just for minor code cleanups, there aren't new features or so.

From this release GRender can be compiled with GTK+-2.0 through `./configure --enable-gtk2`.
The default remains GTK+-1.2 as it has a better backwards compatibility, but if you insist using the 2.0 version you are welcome!
There aren't any GTK+-2.0-specific features; the code is just tweaked to compile using the 2.0 version without errors or warnings.
The binary RPM is build with GTK+-1.2.... read more

GRender v0.1.0 released

At last the first release of GRender is out!

From this release GRender is capable of handling queues of Maya scenes files (both binary and ascii). You can load scenes, manage render properties or use the properties stored in the file, send them to the queue, switch job positions, insert stops and launch renderings without starting Maya.

What you can't do is render with MentalRay (from the next release it will be possible) and save sessions and options. There are also few Maya switches that aren't enabled yet.... read more

GRender has completed the move to SourceForge.net

GRender, the linux render queue manager for A|W Maya, has completed the move to SourceForge.net.

SourceForge.net is the world's largest Open Source development site hosting 28,000 projects, and GRender now is one of those.

SourceForge.net provides free hosting to 'Open Source' software development projects. The concept of 'Open Source' promotes the benefits of collaborative development by ensuring that potential end-users are able to obtain and use software, and that the software may be improved and expanded to meet the needs of its users. Collaboration within the Open Source community (developers and end-users) promotes a higher standard of quality, and helps to ensure the long-term viability of both data and applications.... read more
