Greenshot will aks our website what the latest version is, which by default is once a week. There is no data send. If the version on the website is newer, it will inform you.
As the web-site, hosted by Sourceforge, is unstable it probably tries this a lot of time.
You can disable it in the settings, set the update check to 0

Oh yeah, why you see vhost.sourceforge.net? Greenshot tries to connect to getgreenshot.org, which is routed to a virtual host of Sourceforge...
