So there have been some bug-reports and other comments on mealmaster
I've started to debug this and wanted to confirm Roland's observation
that import gets slower as it goes -- it definitely does slow down
substantially (factor of 5 to 10) as it imports more recipes.
It appears this is not related to the database backend but to updates
made to the GUI front-end, which means it *should* be fixable. I
believe I've made some speed enhancements by getting rid of some of
the ingredient-registering features that make key-generation and
ingredient-recognition work so nicely. That said, perhaps these
features aren't as important for imported recipes anyway, since they
are mostly useful for things like drop-down entry-completion, etc.
when entering recs by hands. But I'm afraid this isn't the whole
story -- I'm just getting started on tracking this down.
Anyway, if anyone else is interested in helping work this out, let me
know and I can send you necessary files meantime. It will likely be a
while before the next release as I'm planning to add the new DB
backend which will take me a while to stabilize.
