Under linux I can't find the database file. Uninstalling the program does not delete the database. When I reinstall it is still there. any idea which files I need to manually remove.
Uninstalling shouldn't remove the database -- it would be bad if removing a program removed custom personal data. As is standard in many programs, the personal files are stored in a "dot" directory -- ~/.gourmet/
To remove all previous configuration, do the following:
rm -rf ~/.gourmet/
To just remove the database file, do the following:
