Hi Konrad, Vector formats are high on the requests list. We planned to include vector formats in the next release (1.3), which should be made available soon, hopefully this month. Hi, I haven't used your version of the jplot but have been using a version found on tcptrace.org. I had been searching for a version that can do the following: 1. Accept multiple files as input 2. Plot all files specified in same window 3. each file is plotted one below the other on separate X/Y scales. i.e the data from each file should not be overlaid. 4. Any zoom operations on one plot should take effect on the other plots too. I came across your JPLOT durign my search and ws wondering if it is possible? Naveen nko...@ya... |

Tom, There is no reason to unzip the jar file. You should be able to double-click on the file's icon to run JPlot. If that fails (you don't have the proper file association or whatever), then open a CMD window, CD to the folder where you put the jar file, and type: java -jar JPlot.jar Fred |

Hey, Congratulations on putting together a very nice program. I've looked at several (free) java plotting programs, and yours met my needs the best. I did have to make several modifications to make it work for me, though, and since you are rewriting it, I thought I would share what mods I had to make, since several others may need the same. First, I wanted to use your program as a library of plotting functions used by another program of mine. This required me to create wrappers around your classes that ignored the GUI. It would be nice if you separated the GUI from the parts that actually generate the plot. Second, there are many times when discrete X values are desired. I hacked this functionality in, but I'm sure others would appreciate full support for discrete values. Third, when adding random labels to graphs, it would be nice to be able to have one dialog that lets you adjust the position of the labels without closing several dialogs to see the effect of the change. The JRE is OK but Jplot [windows 2000] setup.exe installs a jar file into the jplot directory. I can unpack the jar file with winzip, which puts the classes etc. into another subdirectory call jplot but no java file is created. Additionally a \work directory is required but not created. I created it but I can't get jplot to execute. Finally, the installation splash screen refers to an older version of jplot. Please advise. |

Joe, If you installed the JRE, the jar-version should be executable. Simply double-click on the file. I uploaded some kind of installer which creates clickable icons on your desktop, for windows only. I suggest to use this installer, which does most of the work for you. The sources (.tar.gz) are useful for developers only, i.e. people who want to integrate the JPlot software in their application. Hope this helps, =2DJan. P.-S. Hi. I am currently looking for software that will plot Pourbaix diagrams and came across your site at SourceForge.net regarding the downloadable JPlot software. While I am familiar in working with Winows, I am not an experienced Java user so I' don't fully understand what is necessary and what is going on I downloaded the 1.4.2 JRE Beta version which appears to work with the sample programs that it comes installed with or automatically refers to when first opening the software (e.g., Swing).
