Converting the attached png with 16 indexed colors to pdf fails. The result produced by graphicsmagick 1.3.6 shipped by ubuntu 13.10 is attached. No options for "convert" were used, except input and output file.

Imagemagick 6.7.7 can handle this job.

There is no such failure with the current GraphicsMagick release. GraphicsMagick 1.3.6 was released on July 25, 2009 and it is 2014 already. Please beg Ubuntu to update their GraphicsMagick.
