I haven't had this issue in the past but when running GrandPerspective 3.0.1 this week on MacOs 13.2.1 on an M1 MacBook Air, it slows to a crawl on my ~username/Library/CloudStorage/.... directory. I've been using both Google and Apple cloud storage for a while and not had this problem.

It appears to be caused to a change (regression?) in macOS regarding how it handles files stored in the cloud. It used to be the case that a scan could obtain file metadata (size, creation time, etc) without triggering a download of the file contents, but that apparently has changed.
I have yet to investigate if there is something that can be done by GrandPerspective to avoid this. At the very least, it should blacklist this folder by default as long as the scan behavior remains as is. Until then, you can carry out a filtered scan where you exclude this folder yourself.

I have tried to reproduce it, but it works fine for me as expected (offline files are not downloaded when they are being scanned). Note, you do need to enable Google Drive in Finder and let macOS manage the Google Drive location. See the link below for more details:

Thank you - I think this issue is now resolved. I believe it was related to Google Drive - not necessarily iCloud.
