Maybe use GedcomX source description > and reference fields as a source of inspiration. There are plenty of guidelines on how to use the various default fields. If you are going to use sources and citations, the it is a good idea to consider guidelines, so that you don't have to reinvent the world, and so that it is easier to transfer information between users. I use [1] which provides guidance on how information should be distributed between the Source record and the Citation record, and also the sort of thing that should be placed in Title, Author etc. It is designed for use with PAF, but PAF seems to use essentially the same fields as Gramps, so there is no problem in mapping to Gramps. It provides general guidelines, and also specific guidelines for specific document types such as census, certificate etc. There is also [2], but this is for FTW, which uses a 'Master Source' although this just seems to be the place where the 'Title' is stored.
