The best thing about Gramps, in my opinion, is that it is developed by genealogists and not by profit motives. Gramps' features are practical and are directed to getting real research done. I think the pressure of some other programs to meet the needs of very diverse skill levels and experience has resulted in too many marginally needed bells and whistles. I'm happy with real tools. My only dislike is all the wasted space on the Relationship view. Why can't dates be to the right of names so we can get the whole picture in the view without having to scroll so much. I wish I could expand the Descendant Gramplet to full page so I could see the full information. I find that a very useful tool that I use a lot. Thanks for getting this started Duncan. Jim |
