You may have missed this in Benny's message: you can detach any gramplet from gramps, and position it anywhere on the screen. It will remain there whatever screen you are in. So, what you describe above is incorrect, and entering data via this screen is much easier: you can copy most of the details of a new person from another (say, mother, brother, or son). For example, you can add three siblings by just changing their given names and birthdates, and clicking "add". You'll get the rest of the data without having to do anything. For example, it will add a family if none exists if you are adding a spouse, and look up the place info to share the place. -Doug > Either method requires clicking on the Sidebar to go to another view.
