Personally, when adding a family event, I would like a pop up window asking if I want this event shared with the family members. I wouldn't want it shared automatically (takes away my ability to control what's happening), but a pop-up would be ideal as it would then save me having to manually share most of the time. I would be okay with the family events being shown in the views option but I have already shared many hundreds of these events in my current databases :-) I definitely don't want duplicates showing up and I don't want to go back and delete all the sharing...
